The Fearless Girl Scholarship, covering the entire registration fee, is available to all female scouts who register for and complete National Youth Training.  Here’s how it works:

An eligible female scout should register through the registration link.  Eligible scouts are 13 and First Class* or a member of a Venturing Crew.  (*for 2019 and Winter 2020 ONLY, female scouts do not have to be First Class).  There is a limit of 2 scholarships per scouting unit ** (** for 2019 ONLY, this limit will be waived)

Here’s the link:

A deposit of ½ of the registration fee is due at registration.  For 2019, that amount is $140.  There are no forms to complete requesting the scholarship.  A late fee of $50 will be applied to any registrations beginning 29 days before the start of the course.***  (*** for 2019 ONLY, the late fee will be waived for female scouts).  The registration closing dates will not be changed.

The scholarship fund will pay the outstanding balance of $140.  Additional shirts that may be ordered are not included in the scholarship amount.

After the conclusion of the course, the NYLT staff adviser will have a list of the female scouts who completed the course.  Those scouts will be asked to complete a survey for the donors who generously provided the funds for them to attend the training.  Once the survey is returned, the deposit of $140 will be refunded.  Please be aware, refunds can take up to four weeks.

Registration will open July 1, 2019 for the

Winter 2020 course.
Questions -

The NYLT course centers around the concepts of what leaders must BE, what they must KNOW, and what they must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership.

Winter 2020 NYLT is a two weekend (Friday evening to Sunday evening)  course. Content is delivered in a troop and patrol setting with an emphasis on immediate application of learning in a fun environment. Interconnecting concepts and work processes are introduced early, built upon, and aided by the use of memory aids, which allows participants to understand and employ the leadership skills much faster. Through activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and audio-visual support, NYLT participants will be engaged in a unified approach to leadership that will give them the skill and confidence to lead well. Through a wide range of activities, games, and adventures, participants will work and play together as they put into action the best Scouting has to offer.
